Kate Nash

There is hardly anything that has not yet been written about Kate Nash. The career of this British jack-of-all-trades has taken several twists and turns over the past two decades, but she has always emerged stronger as a person and an artist. Starting out as an industry darling, she broke with typical business policy and took matters into her own hands after the release of her second album – a decision that proved to be absolutely correct. With albums such as her debut, “Made Of Bricks” (2007), and the eclectic genre testament “Yesterday Was Forever” (2018), Nash has arrived in the international pop Olympus and is now a force to be reckoned with in all areas of the music world. Whether it’s alt-pop or indie, R’n’B or folk, punk or the sheer power of early riot grrrl bands such as Bikini Kill: Whatever Nash integrates into her sound just works. With her new album, “9 Sad Symphonies” (2024), she delivers a smooth collection of songs of orchestral beauty and elegance that once again show Nash in a new light. Another testament to the fact that as an artist, she is unwavering in her path and answers to absolutely no one. We need more artists of this calibre.
